SUMMER CAMP

 Registration Forms

Camp Washington
is the picturesque center for outdoor ministries of the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut. This 300-acre woodland retreat, in the heart of Litchfield County, has been an idyllic spot for children & families for almost 100 years. Here, campers can take a break from their summer routine, make new friends, deepen their faith, enjoy the beauty of the area, have fun, learn new skills and return
home with memories that will last a lifetime!

Camp Washington is small enough that campers form lasting friendships not only within their cabin groups, but with the camp community as a whole. The maximum total camp size is 96 campers with living groups not larger than 12 per cabin.

At Camp Washington you will find:

• A caring community centered on Christian
values and beliefs

• A strong commitment to helping each camper
grow in faith

• A professional well-trained staff focused on
the needs of campers

• An active, fun & challenging program with
something for everyone

• A healthy & safe camp environment

The Purpose of the summer camp program at Camp Washington is to provide a place where children of all ages can grow spiritually, emotionally, socially and physically. We strive to help campers come to know God's love through their experiences in this outdoor environment, the friendships they make here, and the teachings of Jesus Christ. Camp Washington is open to all people regardless of age, gender, lifestyle, national origin, physical abilities, race or religious creed.

The Worship life of Camp Washington is a very important element of our community. Based in the Episcopal tradition, closing day Eucharist and daily evening worship are the primary worship opportunities. We encourage children and staff to participate fully in worship and we structure our worship in such a way as to respect the various traditions from which our campers come. All campers are expected to join the community at worship.

All campers participate in one activity block of Christian Exploration each day. Our Christian Exploration program is presented in an exciting and engaging manner using ageappropriate arts & crafts, drama, stories, songs, games, outdoor activities and group discussion
to help campers learn & experience God.

Horseback Riding Lessons:  Four 1 hour lessons offered off-site at Lee's Riding Stables in nearby Litchfield, CT during select sessions.  Spaces are Limited!

American Camp Association
We take great pride in the fact that Camp Washington is accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA). The ACA is the governing body of summer camps in America and has set forth the industry standards by which all accredited camps are critiqued. The ACA standards go above and beyond what the State of Connecticut requires of a licensed summer camp.
